the couple

We’ve been exploring the great outdoors together since 1985. We have hiked, mountaineered, rock climbed and canyoneered in many parts of the world. We love researching and planning adventures.

We seek the rawness of life found in nature.

Julie Chatelain

Julie was a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) with training in Somatic Experiencing, fitness and nutrition. In her career, Julie focused on assisting her clients to become more aware of their bodily responses to stress.

Through mindfulness training, her aim was to guide her clients in choosing healthier options to improve their lives.

Julie enjoys pushing her own boundaries and exploring the fine edge of fear where the unfamiliar starts. By exposing herself to challenges, she has gained a better understanding of who she is, her strengths and what is important to her.

Simon lanoix

Simon was an IT (Information Technology) executive and senior consultant, working in Canada and the United States. Simon’s degrees were in photogrammetry (aerial photo & mapping) and business administration. His background consulting in mapping, project planning, management and execution is beneficial for planning outdoor expeditions and adventures.

Simon is always positive and full of energy. He is an innovator, willing to break from tradition in order to advance new methods and techniques.

During three sabbaticals in the last 10 years, Simon experienced the ‘liminal space’ through mindful walking (and thru-hiking). A simpler life developed as a result, where; connection with people, communities and culture where essential. Simon loves to support people and share these life lessons.
