Being physically prepared for the trail is important. You will experience physical pain during the first 7 to 10 days. You can minimise this physical pain by building a good fitness base. Overuse injuries are common and may stop you from accomplishing your goals. Plan for success by being fit prior to leaving on any trek.
We provide our thoughts and findings from our continuous research in this space. We reference books and specialists as appropriate (and required). We highly recommend that you follow-up and do your own research. If you lack experience with exercising, consider hiring a fitness coach to assist you in developing a program suited to your needs. The coach should have an understanding of your goals (long distance walking, hiking with a back-pack, etc.). As always, check with your doctor for any health issues you may have prior to starting a fitness program. |
